Tall case brass dial clock, 1774.

Mahogany tall-case clock. The hood has a molded broken-scroll pediment terminating in carved roundels with a central turned finials on an inlaid keystone, string inlay in the tympanum, sidelights, free-standing turned columns at the four corners and a glazed door with string inlay and an astragal top. Waist with cove molding at the top, inlaid stars above the door, and a case door with an arched and inlaid top. Base with cove and ovolo molding at the top, string inlay at the front, an inlaid six-pointed star in the center, and supported on French feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, applied cast ornament in the spandrels and a moon phase dial in the lunette. Inside the chapter ring there is engraved ornament consisting of vines and leaves and the inscription "Jacob Gorgas 1774." Thirty hour movement.
